- First off, there are very few SUPPORTED baud rates for the Serial.device

- 1200, 2400, 9600, 19200, 38400, 57600, 115200

- Please note that the the ones in between are NOT standard baud rates for
- locking the serial port.

- te 57.6 and the 115.2 are not compatible with all serial devices.

- if your system throws garbage characters at you when you connect after locking
- the port at one of these rates, you will need to drop the locked rate back to
- one of the former settings.

- it is also IMPERATIVE that you set your Prefs/Serial and your telecom programs
- to use CTS/RTS (hardware handshaking). You'd be surprised how many folks
- still have Xon/Xoff set on their systems.
